About the Stone House

Guest House in Winter

Escape to what has been named one of the most magical destinations in the White Mountains which most people just call The Stone House.  A place where your mind, body and soul can relax and become one with nature.  People fall in love here, and some have been married in its hay fields.

The Stone House is on 880 acres surrounded by the White Mountain National Forest.  It is a great retreat for hikers, plant enthusiasts, Yale forestry students, animal lovers, hippies, bird watchers and entomologists.  Here, the wildlife is flourishing, and the grounds provide a safe home for wild animals, including moose, bear, beaver and the mysterious fisher cat.  It is a private property -- please stay on the marked trails.
